AGE: 101 • Runnemede

Giuseppe "Peppino" Sivieri, on September 8, 2012, of Runnemede. Age 102. Beloved husband of the late Elda (nee Polidori) for 75 years. Loving father of Antonietta Valentino, Luciano (Cosetta), Maria DiGhionno (Nicola), Veralda Cardone (Joseph), Vincent (Sandra), Emidio and Gino (Jeanine). Devoted grandfather of 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Rose Maioriello and Jean Gangemi and predeceased by 6 brothers and sisters. Also survived by 14 loving nieces and nephews. Giuseppe was born in Tollo (Chieti), Italy in 1910. He was drafted into the Italian Military in 1929, serving in the Aviation division. Later he was called again to serve in the Italian Army Infantry Division during World War II. In Italy he ran the family cantina, owned a cabinet making shop and was a musician. Giuseppe began a new life in America in 1954. He was a proud member of the Cabinet Makers Local Union 1050. Giuseppe worked for McCloskey-Grant Corporation in Philadelphia for 25 years. He enjoyed playing the mandolin, gardening and telling colorful hometown and wartime stories. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 9:45 to 10:45am Friday morning at Holy Child Parish, St. Maria Goretti RC Church, 321 Orchard Ave, Runnemede, NJ . Funeral Mass 11am. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chews Landing. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Giuseppe's name to AARP Foundation, foundation.aarp.org.
