Ruth Martorano Obituary
Gloucester City - Ruth I. Martorano (nee Alex), on August 12, 2018, of Gloucester City. Age 88. Beloved wife of the late Steven Martorano, Sr. Devoted mother of Steven, Jr., Ruth I., Robert J., John T. and the late Edward J. Loving grandmother of nine and great grandmother of eight. Dear sister of Verna Sheldon, Marie Butterfield, Gladys Williams and the late Dolores Chambers. Ruth was born in Mahanoy City, PA. She was a former member of the Gloucester City PTA and worked at Mary Ethel Costello Middle School cafeteria in Gloucester for over 20 years. Ruth was also a former girl scout leader and a member of the Gloucester City Seniors Association. There will be a viewing from 11am to 1pm Saturday at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral Service 1pm at the funeral home. Interment private. Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ruth's memory to Caring Hospice Services, 133Q Gaither Dr., Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054 or to St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, Montana 59004 (www.stlabre.org). Family and friends may share memories at www.GardnerFuneralHome.com.
