my name is Marco Gelardini, Isabella's father and Karol's husband. I am writing you from Italy where I heard of your terrible loss. Eventhough I was not lucky enough to meet your wonderful son, I heard constantly my little daughter Isabella talking about him. My wife Karol have been so touched by your son's personality that she cannot stop crying. I am speachless to partecipate this loss because only you know the pain. Dear Schleyer Family,
I had the pleasure of being with your son everyday two years ago - Ryan was in the late shuttle group that waited with me after school (I am an aide at the ECEC). Ryan was so full of energy and playfulness. I never saw him without a smile on his face! He was such a wonderful boy with a twinkle in his eye (I thought a look of adventurousness best described it!). Every time I saw him after that year he never failed to greet me with a smile! I pray for comfort for your family and hope all your wonderful memories of Ryan will help ease your pain as you grieve. You were truly blessed and we were blessed having known him.

To the Schleyer Family: I do not know what to say other than your family is in our prayers. Losing a child is not the natural life chain, but for some reason God wanted His angel in heaven with Him, to look down on your family and protect you. THE Angels above needed an “All-Star” baseball player for their team in Heaven. They looked upon the earth to search for the “All-Star” that could lead the Angels in Heaven to victory. They asked the coach Lord Jesus, but whom is worthy of this vacancy we have Lord? He must be excellent and kind and caring, he must compassionate and loving and sharing, HE MUST BE PERFECT!... Lord who can fill this void? The Lord Jesus answered them, “I know just the boy”. May the relatives of Ryan find peace in this time of sorrow, may they feel the power of the Holy Spirit upon them during this difficult time.

I am truly sorry for your loss and for our loss too. Ryan was a special boy, I was his lunch aid in 1st grade and used to tease him about putting ranch dressing on his pizza, but before you knew it all the kids were doing it. He was a great kid and a real leader, all the boys and GIRLS loved him. In recent years I would see him at the WES where I work now and he would always great me with a big smile and a hug, it always made my day! Our thoughts and prayers are with your family now and always!
