Sheila Dashkow, D.D.S.

AGE: 61 • Haddon Township

(nee McFadden) passed away on Dec. 13, 2013. By her side was her beloved daughter, Stacey Cerasi. She was the devoted wife of Michael Dashkow and loving stepmother to his children, Sheera and Steven. She succumbed after a valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her loving family: her brother Edward (Kathy McFadden); her sisters Nora (Joe Downey) and Maureen (Andrew Grivnovics); as well as, all of her dear cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA., in 1952 to Edward and Sally (nee Gallagher) McFadden. Dr. Dashkow was a forensic dentist with her own practice in Pennsauken, NJ., until her recent retirement after 36 years of practice. She was known for her tender care of her patients; her dedicated staff will dearly miss her as well. In addition to her valuable clinical skills, she treated everyone with warmth and caring. Sheila graduated from LaSalle College in 1974, and received her DDS from Temple School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1978.

She provided distinguished service to the country with her participation in identification of the early responders lost in the devastation of the World Trade Towers in September 2001. She has served as the President of the New Jersey State Board of Dental Examiners. She worked tirelessly after other local, and national tragedies such as Hurricane Katrina. She taught professionals in clinical courses and in seminars and at conferences.

Relatives and friends are invited to Sheila's Life Celebration on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm at the Inglesby-Givnish Funeral Home 600 E. Main St, Maple Shade, NJ 08052. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church 402 W. Kings Highway Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 8:45 to 9:45 am. Interment Locustwood Memorial Park.
