AGE: 72 • Marlton
STEPHEN E. SCHNELL of Marlton , NJ, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017. He was 72 years old. He is the son of the late Charles E. and Lillian Schnell. Steve was a retired Teacher at Cherry Hill High School in Cherry Hill, NJ. He was a member of S.C.H.E.A. He is the Brother of David Schnell of Atco, NJ. He will be greatly missed by his friend Jean and many other teachers from Cherry Hill. Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, Medford, NJ.

Today a conversation on a social media page made me think of 'Mr Schnell' who was my English teacher in 8th grade, so I decided to Google, and landed here. I realise it's late, but I want to say he's one of the best teachers I ever had. I'm 54 years old and still remember how he didn't just teach English, he taught us to THINK. He encouraged creativity and individually. He's a part of making me who I am today, and I wish I'd been wise enough to thank him at the time.

Steve was a man of many talents. A magician, faithful friend, great travel companion, excellent teacher & had a vast knowledge of all areas & once tried out for Jeopardy. An expert on any casino info you would need & once guided me in gambling on a visit & I consider the trip to be rewarding. He once got a sit down dinner for me, Terry & her Mom from Florida @ one of the 4 star casino restaurants. He & I were #1 & #2 with trips to Washington, DC & Massachusetts. Steve & his " ties " & his hearse he drove whit @ Beck. I never met anyone who didn't like Steve. I learned & gained Steve's steadfast trust when I was given/told information about the Union as well as school officials that added me & others behind the scenes. Heaven has gained a great human being/spirit who left us TOO SOON.

I had Mr. Schnell in 9th grade and again in 12th grade. Over 25 years later, I warmly remember him as my favorite high school teacher. Thank you, Mr. Schnell, for touching lives like you did.

Steve was a mentor and friend. During my early years in Cherry I taught with Steve, he later became the resident magician at my summer camp and all the kids loved him.
So long Steve you made an impression that will last a lifetime!
