In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

To Steve's family & friends - I just heard the sad news. I would have come to say goodbye but I just now found out. Steve was the kind of person that would give the shirt off his back. I worked with him at Magnetic Metals but also had the privilege and enjoyment to get to know him personally, to sit and talk with him at his Merchantville apartment. He waited so long to get his drivers license back. He was so happy he could drive again. Then I was with him the day he won ten thousand dollars on the Big Money Spectacular scratch off ticket. Things were finally going his way. He said " I never catch a break, this is my time now." Steve was so very neat and organized. He kept his workplace spotless. I'm shaken up today to hear of his passing - Sometimes we don't understand why things happen, or we say to ourselves "if I only could have been there". It was meant to be this way- God needed another angel, Rest in Peace my buddy Steve, I will never forget your kind, gentle caring soul. You touched everyone in your life. Rest now.

STEVE was a buddy of mine .Played baseball, lived life and generally was glad I lived when he did, he was a funny guy, always upbeat, alive and yes--- one of the boys from the Hill. IT IS HARD --he's no longer with us but he's still here in our hearts, our memories. Steve-- Good Bye until we meet again in the next game-- practice up.
