Ambrose Gehlhausen Obituary
He was born March 23, 1918, in Kitterman's Corner, Ind., to Jacob Gehlhausen and Caroline Fitter. He married Ruby Lauderdale on Nov. 11, 1941, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Siberia, Ind.
Mr. Gehlhausen was a stamp collector, treasurer of A & H truck lines Federal Credit Union, owner of A & R Country Store and very active in the St. Martin of Tours parish.
He is survived by wife, Ruby Gehlhausen of Birdseye; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Betty) Glaz of Columbia, S.C., Mrs. Patrick (Patricia) Dean of Evansville and Joan Gehlhausen of Birdseye; two brothers, Urban Gehlhausen of Ferdinand, Ind., and Kenneth Gehlhausen of Jasper, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. Dwight (Elizabeth) Pickett of Spring Hill, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Eric Carson, Michele Leahy, Nancy Watkins, John and Mark Glaz and Carrie, Michael, Lori and Natalie Dean; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn J. Carson; one son, Gregory Gehlhausen; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Victor and Leander Gehlhausen.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 7 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. St. Martin parish prayer service 6 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be held in St. Martin of Tours Church in Siberia, Ind., Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at 10 a.m. Burial in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
