Bettye Helen Lena Wiebking, 88, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away at 9:30 pm, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Home.
Bettye was born May 1, 1928 in Evansville, IN, the daughter of Emil and Mary (Griffith) Wiebking. She was retired from Goodwill having been devoted to her employment there for 26 years. Bettye was a member at Bethel United Church of Christ where she enjoyed being a greeter on Sundays. She was active in the Women's Guild, Lydia Circle, Friday Fellowship, Legion 265 Auxiliary, Epsilon Sigma, and Alpha Delta International where she was president in 1994 for six terms.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Keller of West Lafayette, IN.; nieces and nephews, Judy Keller (Tom), Karen Keller Thielen, Linda Keller Mundy (Donnie), Dan Keller (Joie), and many great nieces and nephews.
Bettye was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday, February 24, 2017 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, with Reverend Raygan Baker officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 pm until 7 pm, Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home and again on Friday from 10 am until time of service at 11 am at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 701 N. Weinbach Ave., #51C, Evansville, Indiana 47711.
