Carl Byers Obituary

BOONVILLE - My name is Aidan Lukacs Byers and Carl was my great-grandpa.

My extended family wanted to wait until I arrived to have a Celebration of Life service for great-grandpa Carl.

He began his walk with God on May 8, 2006, and I arrived on June 14, 2006. I am old enough now to travel from Boston with my parents, Ben and Dolores, to join in the celebration.

Great-grandpa Carl is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lula Mae (Elzer) Byers; sons, Gordon and Frank and his wife Terri; grandsons, my dad, Ben, and his wife, Dolores, Andy, serving in Iraq, Dusty and his wife, Jennifer, and my little cousin, Kiele Rae, grandson, Josh, and granddaughter, Katelin. He is survived by sisters, Lois Ivie and Mary Jane Coffin; many nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends.

We will be having his service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Boonville, Ind. Please come and join us to help us celebrate with praise to our Lord, music, special memories and fellowship.

If you wish to, please make memorial donations in Carl's memory to The Tourette Syndrome Association Inc., 42-40 Bell Boulevard Suite 205, Bayside, N.Y., 11361-9861.

Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Ind., is in charge of the arrangements.

Hi, Frank:

I noticed your dad's death notice when he passed away and intended to drop you a card but just didn't...

Anyway, just wanted to express my condolences and best wishes and thoughts for you and your family.
