Christopher Hemmings Obituary
Benny worked for Metzger Construction for thirty-five years. For many years he was an owner/operator of his own semi tractor trailer.
Benny was preceded in death by his son, Gary Wayne, and two brothers, Jimmy and Ray Hemmings, and one granddaughter, Morgan Renee Smith.
Surviving Benny is his wife of 22 years, Lela M. Hemmings; six children, Sandra A. Monarch (John), Mary E. Hemmings, and Sheila Morrow (Jim), all of Boonville, Ind., Christopher B. Hemmings Jr. of Rockport, Ind., Bill Hemmings (Julie) of Chandler, Ind., and Jerry Lee Smith of Boonville, Ind.; thirteen grandchildren, Jenifer (Shawn), Morgan, Christi, Tabitha, Jon, Billy Ray, Chris, Chip, Tori, Caitlin, Heath (Vanessa), Robin, Joshaua, three great-grandchildren, Landon, Skylar and Kynzi; sisters, Loretta Lee of Hebron, Ind., Arville Houston of Evansville, Ind., Lee McNeely of Boonville, Ind., Tiletha Ambrose of Boonville, Ind., Debra Wongler of Boonville, Ind., Linda Smith of Charlotte, N.C., Lorraine Brown of St. Croix, Ind., Redenna Whistle of St. Croix, Ind., and Jill Bowman of Juliette, Ga.; brothers, David and Clayton Hemmings, both of Boonville, Ind., Mike Hemmings of Bristow, Ind., John Hemmings of Spurgeon, Ind., and Rodney Hemmings of Boonville, Ind.,
Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Boonville, Ind. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to service time at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Benny Hemmings Memorial Fund at Boonville Federal Savings Bank or the Old National Bank, Boonville Branch.

even though I never met you, I would always hear dad talk about you. He thought alot of you Benny! Maybe now both of you can swap stories and stuff up there on the clouds.....

I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Benny's passing. I am one of Ray's daughters. Janet Rae (Hemmings) Lottes. I would love to have contact with anyone who wants to e-mail me. I have spent many years with lots of questions about my dad's childhood, and didn't know how to contact anyone. I love you all, and I am praying that God will comfort your hearts during this very sad time.
