Constance English Obituary

Constance Marie English

Evansville, IN

Constance Marie English (Cole), age 89, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away at 8:36 pm, on Monday, November 6, 2017, at Bell Oaks Assisted Living in Newburgh, Indiana.

Constance was born February 11, 1928, to the late John J. Cole and Nellie Cole (Jones). She attended Bosse High School, where she met and fell in love with Paul. They eloped at a young age. Constance was a devoted wife and felt that her greatest accomplishments were her five children, with whom she tried to make all family milestones a special occasion. God has finally guided her home to be with the love of her life, who passed in 2013.

Constance and Paul renewed their vows at their 50th Anniversary at North Friendship Baptist Church with their original witnesses. They both accepted Christ as their Savior and were both baptized there. Constance served for a short time as an assistant clerk, was involved with The Open Door Sunday School Class, and sang in the church choir. She loved music and actively participated in musical events at her assisted living center.

Constance worked at Deaconess Hospital as a nurses aid before retiring from Evansville State Children's Psychiatric Center, after 25 years. She was also an avid Patriot and gave generously to many Veterans' services. She was a perfectionist and dressed impeccably. Everyone loved her that knew her, and she touched many lives.

She is survived by her daughters, Carole Faye (Steven) Alexander of Newburgh, IN and Vicki Lynn (Stephen) Moore of Ft. Branch, IN; sons, Steven Ray English of Evansville, Gary Wayne (Bonnie) English of St. Charles, MO and David Allen English of Franklin, NC; brothers, Charles Cole of Evansville, IN and Jim (Sue) Cole of Visalia, CA; grandchildren, Krista (Chuck) DeLattre, Karin (Harry) Martinek, Jason (Shelia) Moore, Matthew Moore, Brian (Heather) English, Traci (Dan) Montgomery, Dwayne (Julie) English, Scott (Tricia) English, Kevin (Amy) English, Amber English and Andrew English; 16 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Paul English; and brother, Bill Cole.

Funeral Services will be held at 6 pm, Thursday, November, 9, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor Jonathan Scott officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, with a Graveside Service at 11 am, Friday, November 10, 2017.

Friends may visit from 4 pm until 6 pm, Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.

Carole, Vicki, Steven, Gary and David and families. I am very sorry for your loss. I can remember her when we were in grade school. Such a beautiful, kind lady. I am sorry I was unable to get to the services today. I had planned to come and my car kept dying on me. I had no choice but to come on home. May God watch over each of you and may you feel his peace in your hearts.
