David Gary Rinehart
David Gary Rinehart is conducting a choir of angels in the presence of his Lord and Savior, and the sound is glorious. David, 46, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, along with his daughter, Sophie Grace Rinehart, and his mother, Ruth Ann Rinehart. David was born September 18, 1970, in Evansville, to Gary and Ruth Ann (Girton) Rinehart.
He was the worship and music pastor for more than 22 years at Crossroads Christian Church. He was a 1988 graduate of William Henry Harrison High School, attended the University of Southern Indiana, and graduated from Kentucky Christian College in 1990. David was instrumental in the organization of the Worship Arts Academy and created the youth choir at Crossroads. He also organized and produced music celebrations at Crossroads and Easter services at the Ford Center. He was proud of being an Eagle Scout and member of Boy Scout Troop 322. David was a connoisseur of the fine arts; he loved listening to all genres of music, had a love for collecting records, but especially music from the 70's. Piano was his passion and he used this gift to bring others to Christ. He was a loving father, brother, son, and husband, and never met a stranger.
David is survived by his daughters, Josie and Rylie Rinehart, and their mother, Lucinda Rinehart; father, Gary Rinehart; brother, Shawn (Hannah) Rinehart; sister, Sara (Chad) Rinehart McAtee; nieces and nephews, Tatem, Jonas, and Scarlett Rinehart, and Ellison, Ayden, and Adler McAtee; uncles, David Girton and Lonnie Hanson; aunts, Cathy Hanson and Jan McCollum; cousins, Megan Malchioni, Haley Girton, Katie Brucks, Christopher Hanson, Kristin Laszlo, Jenny and David Rinehart.
