Dr. Ed, known as Bibot to his family, was born April 20, 1959 in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines to the late Dr. Simplicio and Felicidad (Payot) Lagunzad. His family moved to Cleveland, Ohio in the early 1970s. He then worked at Evansville Multi Specialty Clinic from 2010 until 2015 when he began treating patients at St. Vincent Urgent Care. Ed was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County where he enjoyed singing in the church choir. When not treating patients or singing, he could be found tending to his plants in his garden.

Surviving is his wife of 25 years, Julie (Hiestand) Lagunzad; two daughters, Anastacia Lagunzad and Isabella Lagunzad and one son, Samuel Lagunzad. Dr. Lagunzad was mine and my children’s physician for 5 years. Without a doubt, he was the best doctor/ person that I ever had the pleasure of being under his care. He actually listened and genuinely cared about helping people. I am extremely sorry for the families loss.
