James Overton Obituary
Folsomville, Ind.
James M. "Deer Slayer" Overton, 77, passed away Sat. July 19, 2014 at Woodlands Convalescent Center in Newburgh.
He was the son of Martin L. & August Shelton Overton. James was a US Navy Veteran and a member of the V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his children, David, Daniel & Christine Overton; sister, Sibyl; and brother, Hank.
James is survived by three children, Susan Overton Lewis (Robert), Ricky Overton all of Folsomville and Kenneth Overton of Boonville; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Ann O'Risky of Evansville; 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
He was loved by many and he left fond memories to all who knew him. James left a letter to all his loved ones that reads: I want you to know that I am not dead and gone, I've just changed my address, so just send me a letter to heaven, In care of Jesus.
Funeral Service 2:00 PM Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel with burial in Shiloh Cemetery near Folsomville.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wed. and 10:00 AM until service time Thurs. at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel.
Memorial contributions in memory of James may be made to Bread Of Life Ministry.
