Joyce Fortune Obituary

RICHLAND CITY, Ind. — Joyce Maxine (Nash) Fortune of Richland City, beloved mother and wife, died at her home Monday July 28, 2008.

She was born in Richland City, Ind., on September 12, 1923, to the late Edison W. and Ivy (Goldman) Nash. Joyce, who was a member of St. Rupert's Catholic Church, was a graduate of Luce Township High School, Indiana Business College and Nursing School. She worked in area hospitals prior to her retirement.

Maxine is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert G. Fortune; three (3) daughters, Millicent Dooley, Beth Fortune and Bridget Burns; eight (8) grandchildren, Cassandra Ivy Burns, Amanda Keaton, Abigail Keaton, Steven Koskela, Laura Channel, Lisa Heid, Mike Fortune and Raschel Muse. Also surviving is one niece, Donna Gaesser.

In addition to her parents, Maxine is preceded in death by a son, Robert Edison Fortune, who died in 2000, and one brother, Oscar Nash.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008, at St. Rupert's Catholic Church, with Father Lowel Will officiating. Burial to follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Ind.

Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. A prayer service will be today at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends unable to attend may send a condolence to www.boultinghousefuneralhome.com.

I am very sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed talking with Maxine. I worked with her for awhile & loved every minute of it. I will always remember her for her laughter & spunk. May God comfort your family in this time of grief.
