Leon Spindler Obituary
Haubstadt - Leon A. Spindler, 76, of Haubstadt, IN passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Leon retired in 2006 from Elpers and Neumann Construction as a skilled carpenter. He was a longtime member of St. James Catholic Church, St. James Choir, Knights of St. John #345, Knights of Columbus #2215, serving two terms as Grand Knight, and was K of C Bingo Captain. He was a dedicated clabber player, enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He loved sports and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Emma Lee (Rexing) Spindler and in-laws Wilbert and Kathleen (Kaiser) Weiss and a son-in-law, Jeff Probus.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years Carolyn (Weiss) Spindler, three daughters, Jill (Randy) Probus Howell of Newburgh, Lisa Stephens of Ft. Branch, and Jennifer (Chris) Titzer of Newburgh. Grandchildren: Bryce (Betsy) and Jackie (Jess) Stephens, Hunter and Paige Probus, Makayla Spindler. Great Grandson, Isaac Armstrong, as well as siblings Lilburn and Darrell Spindler, and Mary Ann White.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 27 at St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN with visitation from 9:00 to11:00 AM and a Rosary service beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. James cemetery.
Wade Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Visitation and funeral services will be open to the public, but we ask everyone to wear a mask and respect social distancing, in accordance with CDC guidelines.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church 12300 S. 50 W. Haubstadt, IN 47639.

Leon was the best Godfather. He alway encouraged me to be & do my best. He alway had a big smile. He will truly be missed. Sorry I can't make it to the visition & mass I have to work. I will be thinking & praying for you. Love you all.

To Leon Fa:
Leon was about the friendliest guy that I have met in Haubstadt when I resided there. He was my warden when I was Grand Knight with the K of C's. On numerous of my trips to Haubstadt to visit I would run into Leon and always the same Leon. We worked on numerous projects and he was a delight to work with. I and many will miss him. I will say a rosary for him and may the GOOD LORD have mercy on him and may he RIP.
