Lila Simon Obituary
Haubstadt, IN - Lila Rose (Koberstein) Simon, 91, of Haubstadt, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at her home surrounded by family.
Lila was born November 17, 1928 in Haubstadt to the late Emery and Henrietta (Bultman) Koberstein. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and enjoyed quilting, playing cards and gardening.
Surviving Lila are five daughters, Donna (George) Rode, Linda (Danny) Kares, Sharon (Larry) Will, Elaine (Mike) Will and Barbara (Randy) Damm; one son, Danny (Judy) Simon; sisters, Edith Baehl, JoAnn Heyer and Norma (Leonard) Purer; brothers, Emory Koberstein and Marion (Kay) Koberstein; fourteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Lila was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ivan Simon in 2008; by sisters, Thelma Seib, Sr. Elizabeth Ann Koberstein, Virginia Wilzbacher and Alberta Elpers; brothers, Elmer, Alvin, Linus and Merle Koberstein and by a grandson, Matthew Kares.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 20, 2020 at St. James Catholic Church, Rev. Kenneth Betz officiating. Burial will follow in the St. James Church cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:00 AM until service time on Friday at St. James Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chemo Buddies, 3700 Bellemeade Ave, Suite 118, Evansville, IN 47714.
For those who are unable to attend or concerned about attending a public gathering, condolences may be made online at www.pierrefuneralhome.com.
