Marlyn Yvonne 'Vonnie' Hudson

Evansville, Ind.

Marlyn Yvonne "Vonnie" Gilliatt Hudson was born on July 4, 1936, in Taswell, Ind. She passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017, surrounded by the most important people in her life.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Al Kyncl; and her parents, Dessie and Otis Gilliatt. She is survived by her husband of eight years, Gib Hudson; her daughter, Tiki Thompson; son, Troy (Lisa) Thompson; granddaughter, Payton (Zach) Payne; sister, Erelene (Lester) Brown; brother, Edward (Linda) Gilliatt; nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Vonnie taught business at North Posey High School for 19 years, retiring in 1994, after a teaching career spanning 32 years. Through the years, she touched countless students' lives with her caring nature, sense of humor, and dedication to teaching. She was a member of the West Baden First Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.

Vonnie was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She will always be remembered as a gracious and loving wife, a nurturing mother and "nanaw", a loyal friend, and a wonderful example of a Godly woman.

Immediate family and close friends will be invited to a private graveside burial service to be held at Locust Hill Cemetery in Evansville.
