Michael Turpen Obituary
Evansville, Ind.
Michael Alan Turpen of Evansville was called home to be with His Lord and Savior Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the age of 63.
Michael was born February 17, 1949 in Evansville to Garland and Joyce (Heuring) Turpen. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church where he loved singing in the choir. Michael loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and his fur kids. He was passionate about sports throughout his life, playing softball and in later years, playing golf. Michael enjoyed writing music and playing his guitar. Michael had a compassionate heart and went back to school to complete his social work degree from USI. He worked at United Caring Shelters and retired from Southwestern Indiana Mental Health Center.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Turpen; daughters, Kristina (Tony) Wink of Owensboro and Jamie Miles of Evansville; son, Jason (Crystal) Turpen of Evansville; grandchildren, Ashley Turpen, Jordan Miles, Kersten Kinsler, Allison Turpen, Luke McGary, Addy Krietemeyer and Bradyn Turpen; aunt, Carol Cook; cousins and many friends of Bill W. and his beloved fur kids, Jack and Paris Turpen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and great grandson, Bryson.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm, noon, Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Crossroads Christian Church, 10800 Lincoln Avenue, Newburgh with Pastor David Rinehart and Larry Davis officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 pm until 8 pm, Tuesday, December 18, 2012at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville and from 11 am until 12 noon, service time, Wednesday at the church.
Memorial Contributions may be made to: Vanderburgh County Humane Society, P.O. Box 6711, Evansville, IN 47719 and the United Caring Shelter, 324 NW Sixth Street, Evansville, IN 47708.

My prayers go out to the family, I just was informed of Michael's passing, I had a privledge to know Michael for many years and also the a working relationship, he was a wonderful person, big heart and loved his family, and grateful to give back. You will be missed my friend.

I miss your face. I miss your hugs. I miss your mustache kisses. I miss your jokes, even the ones that weren't that funny. I miss your laughter. I miss your compassionate heart. I just miss you! Today was hard but it was nice to see a full room tonight, a continous long line from 4 until 8, full of people who's lives you have touched for the better. It was great to hear all the stories from the people you have helped. You have saved lives and I believe your memory will continue to do so. Cindy, Very sorry to hear of Mike's death. He was so full of life. I remember so much about Mike but he always said, "He who is not busy living is busy dying." Mike was a guy who was busy living and touching others with his smile, song, and joy. I am sad thinking that this world will be without him, but take solace knowing the many lives he blessed.
