Beloved wife of Dr John Gallagher (deceased). Loving mother of Paul, Brian, Julia and Mary-Louise. Mother-in-law to Jolanta, Eris and Stewart (deceased). Beloved Nan to Anneliese and Rosemary. "Aunty Mon" to her many nieces and nephews and Leonie Puckeridge.
Daughter of James Francis and Mary McInerney. Sister to Bob and Gerald and predeceased by Pat, Barry, Brian, William and Paul. Sister-in-law to Mary McInerney, Marion and Leo Gallagher and predeceased by Helen, Betty Rose, Shirley, Eric, Kevin and Kitty.
Monica was loved and respected by her family, friends and by many who served beside her in numerous charitable activities.
Pontifical Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for DAME MONICA GALLAGHER DBE DCSG CEP will be offered in St Leonards Church, corner Donnelly and Willoughby Roads, Naremburn on Thursday (September 26, 2013) commencing at 10.00am.
The funeral will leave the church at the conclusion of the Mass for Macquarie Park Cemetery, corner Plassey and Delhi Roads, North Ryde.
In lieu of floral tributes, please consider a donation to the Friends of St Marys Cathedral (St Marys Cathedral, St Marys Road Sydney 2000).

It was my privilage to know both Dame Monica through St Mary's Cathedral and her husband John fraternally through the Knights of the Southern Cross.
On the birth of our daughter Monica, we received a lovely gift of a plate depicting Noah and his Ark from Dame Monica that has pride of place and is illuminated in our dining room.
His house has many rooms.
