Paul was born November 22, 1937, to Charles and Pauline (Aust) Wright. He was a 1956 graduate of Folsomville High School where he played basketball. He was a hard worker and caring father. His children always came first in his life and he loved spending time with his grandchildren as often as he could. Paul enjoyed working on cars, driving his Chevy pick-up, NASCAR races, entertaining his friends on the piano and farming. He formerly worked for the Warrick County Highway Department and retired from Whirlpool to farm with his father.
Paul is survived by three daughters, Sue Ellen Gresham (Kylen) of Boonville, Ind., Joyce Ann Wright of Bloomington, Ind., and Robin Leigh Cooper (David) of Beaver Creek, Ohio; one son, Charles Wayne Wright (Nicole) of Elkmont, Ala.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lourissa, Jacklyn and Chelsea; and one sister, Joyce Ann Meyer of Chandler, Ind.
Services for Paul will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009, from Bradley's Colonial Chapel in Boonville, with burial in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until service Thursday at the funeral home. Paul's family would like to thank his many friends who kept him young at heart. Contributions in memory of Paul may be made to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.bradleyscolonialchapel.com.

Sue and Charlie,
I just heard of Paul's passing. I am so sorry. I don't live close by anymore and hadn't heard until today. You guys are awful lucky to have had a dad like Paul. When I worked with him out at the Hwy Dept. he made going to work fun, every single day. He'd eat lunch with me and my Mamaw and Pap. :) We became really good friends. He often called me his "bodyguard." As many bad things that happened over the years to me, Paul was one of the blessings. I've got a million stories I could tell you about the fun we had. I am sorry and I hope that you can get some comfort in knowing your dad loved you both so very, very much and always bragged on you both. Goodbye Paul Wayne. I'll sure miss you.
your bodyguard, ~Mike S.

To Sue and the rest of the family,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. Mr. Paul, as I always called him, was such a sweet man. I truly enjoyed getting to know him. He was full of so many stories to tell, I could listen for hours. He will be missed by all who knew him. I can't wait to get to Heaven to talk with him again! My prayers go out to all of you.
