Ruth Minnette

Evansville - Ruth H. Minnette, 94 of Evansville passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2019, at Golden Living Center - Woodlands in Newburgh.

Ruth was born on June 27, 1925 in Perry County, Indiana to Edward and Mary Jane (Minto) Hartz. She graduated from Tell City High School in 1943.

The love of her life and husband of 51 years, Richard (Dick) Minnette preceded her in death on October 8, 1997. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Evelyn Ziegler and Virginia Nelson; three brothers, Edward, Magnus and Calvin Hartz.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Tamara Sweeden (Odis) and Beth Anne Snipes; two sons, Richard J. Minnette (Ann) and Michael O. Minnette (Debbie); grandchildren, Julie Alvey, John Paul Weber, J. Kent Minnette (Erica), Craig Minnette (Karla), Erin Gerling (Matt), Sarah Beth Terry, Teresa Sartore (Timothy); sixteen great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren.

Ruth was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a devoted Christian. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ruth had a warm smile and a great sense of humor. Her outgoing personality, friendly nature and kindness touched all who knew her and she will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Holy Rosary Church, 1301 South Green River Road with Father Bernie Ettienne officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Friends may visit from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2019, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at Holy Rosary Church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2019, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
