Bernard Perry "Bernie" Lehman

Bernard "Bernie" Perry Lehman Sr., age 54, of Prospect, passed away at the Marion General Hospital on June 12, 2025. Bernie was born to Theresa (Bourque) and the late Thomas D. Lehman on October 15, 1970, in Madrid, Spain. Bernie graduated from Elgin High School and went on to become a plumber. As a plumber Bernie went on to start his own plumbing business, "Bernie's Plumbing and Drains LLC." Bernie loved golf, especially at the Oak Haven Golf Course. He was an accomplished bowler, a great angler and a recreational disc golfer. Bernie loved to be around his family most of all. He loved to have cookouts and didn't let anyone near the grill as he became quite the grill master. Bernie was a laid-back man that enjoyed great times, cold beer and good smoke. Bernie is survived by Mother Thearsa, sons, Bernard "Bernie" (Kenzie Kougher) Lehman, and Jason Smith, daughter, Sarah (James Martin) Lehman, brother, Thomas (Kristen) Lehman Jr., sister Tina Lehman, grandson Liam Smith along with numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Bernie was preceded in death by Father, Thomas Sr., and grandmother Naomi White. Friends and family are invited to the visitation of Bernie on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 4p until 7p with the funeral service taking place at 7p all at the Boyd Funeral Home. Paster Josh Freshour officiating the funeral. The family has asked in Liu of flowers that donations be made to the Boyd Funeral Home to help cover the funeral expenses.
