Cheryl Ann Fannin Veach, 67 of Marion, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 25th, 2025. She was born October 3rd, 1957, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Ina “Tiny” and William “Bud” Fannin.
She was preceded in death by her father, William “Bud”, and her grandparents, Rosanna Penix and William David Lawhorn and Nellie Blye Fosset and
Marcus DeLafayette Fannin.She graduated from Greenup County High School Class of 1976, where she was voted homecoming queen. She went on to marry the love of her life, John Bruce Veach, on May, 23rd, 1980. They started their family in Delaware, Ohio, and eventually made their family home in Marion, Ohio. She was very active in the Democratic Party of Marion and was chosen Democrat Of The Year in 1993, for her tireless work, dedication and devotion to the party. She loved spending time sewing, quilting, gardening, and crafting. But her most loved role was that of “Nanny” the name her grandchildren gave her.
Left to cherish her memory is husband, John, children Rosanna (Jay)Vollmer and Michael (Ashley) Veach, grandchildren Kaden, Quenten, Kai, Lincoln, Cashton and Colten, her Mother, Tiny Fannin, brother, Buddy (Rhonda) Fannin, and sisters, Candy (Roger)Gillum and Chrystal (Mark) Fox, sisters-in law and brother-in-law, Kay Landsberg, Becky (Matthew) McKelvey and Charles (Stacy) Veach, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00, at South Shore Nazarene Church, 356 SM Robertson Dr., South Shore, KY, and on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00, at Women’s Club Home, 1126 E Center St., Marion, OH.The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care provided by Gentiva Hospice. The family ask donations be made in to Gentiva Hospice, 1201 Delaware Ave., Marion, OH, 43302.
