John Nixon Obituary
John Eric Nixon, 63, of Crestline, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025. He was born on May 30, 1962, in Mansfield, to the late Donald and Rose Marie (Poland) Nixon. John was a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, whose spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
John began his journey after earning his G.E.D. and answering the call of duty by joining the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, he furthered his education, obtaining an Associate's Degree in Computer Science from North Central State College.
A man of many interests, John found joy in gaming on his phone, indulging in his passion for politics, and immersing himself in the worlds of science fiction shows and movies. He was a devoted cat lover, with a special bond to his feline friend, Meow-Meow. John cherished every moment spent with his grandkids, eagerly listening to their stories and hearing their latest accomplishments.
John's greatest joy in life came from spending quality time with his children. He delighted in long phone conversations with his son, John, where they would trade jokes and share endless laughter. He relished movie nights with his daughter, Crystal, and treasured the moments spent grocery shopping and bonding with his oldest daughter, Bambi,
He had a particular fondness for fried chicken, pizza, and his unique favorite, peanut butter and mayo sandwiches, always paired with a refreshing Pepsi. Known for his infectious laughter and clever sense of humor, John's joy was contagious, brightening the lives of everyone around him.
John is survived by his loving children, Bambi (Robert) Shirk, of Shelby, John Nixon, of Texas, and Crystal Stewart of Mansfield, his six grandchildren: Nick, Autumn, Summer, Damion, Blake and Da'Shawna, and numerous cousins. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
