Doris Zumfelde Obituary
Doris was a 1955 graduate of Napoleon High School. Two weeks later, on June 19th, 1955, she married the love of her life, Eldon Zumfelde at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio.
Doris worked as a secretary at Nationwide Insurance District Office for over 27 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Napoleon American Legion Auxiliary, and the local Low German Club. She volunteered as an Election Poll Worker and for the Red Cross Bloodmobile, both for 40 years.
She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and traveling. She wintered in Florida for 28 years. She loved going to Polka dances with Eldon and most of all, spending time with her family. She will always be remembered by her sensational smile.
She is also survived by her children, Barbara (Dennis) Arps of Napoleon, James (Karen) Zumfelde of Napoleon, and Janet (Gary Drouin) Zumfelde of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Ryan (Stephanie) Arps, Ashley (Nick) Rohrs, Brandi (Tyler) Burgei, Kelsey (David) Rettig, Jessica (Christopher) Tolles, Jennifer (Bill) Hancock, Nicolette (Adam) Winner, Melanie Ryan, and Andrew Ryan, and 20 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by siblings, Don (Ruth) Bergstedt and Louis (Rosella) Bergstedt and a grandson-in-law, Benjamin Herman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-8 p.m. at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon and Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church or CHP Hospice.
