Joyce Detmer

Napoleon - Joyce Detmer, 85, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was born in Bell County, Kentucky to the late Willie Leona Janeway. On September 9, 1955, Joyce married Jerry Detmer in Napoleon, Ohio.

Joyce loved spending time with her family at their cottage on Crooked Lake. She enjoyed drawing and painting portraits. Joyce liked to spend time planting in her garden and arranging her flowers. She especially liked to meet for lunch with the ladies she worked with. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by her children, Tim (Brenda) Detmer, Tom (Robin) Detmer, Carrie (Jerry Borstelman) Eitzman, and Jeanie (Mike) Veillon; grandchildren, Megan (Andy)Behnfeldt, Clint (Kendall) Detmer, Julie (Eric) Norden, Bailey (Michael) Brinkman-Lindley, Tate (Julie Keene) Brinkman, Paige (Ryan) Vaughn, and Zoe (Skylar Fout) Veillon; great grandchildren, Graham, Sloane, Collin, Kasen, Bowen, Waylon, Will, Jaelyn and Baby Vaughn on the way; and siblings, Ramona Dockery, Neil (Cathy) Brogan, Chuck (Donna) Brogan, and Lola Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; granddaughter, Jennifer; and brother-in-law, Wallace Dockery.

Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Hoy Cemetery.
