Rob Prough Obituary
He was born on January 22, 1943, to Douglas and Vera (Johnson) Prough in Ann Arbor, Michigan. On November 4, 1983, he married JoAnn Perry, who survives.
Rob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. He formerly owned and operated the Holiday Lanes in Defiance, and also had worked for IAMS in Leipsic, Ohio. Rob was a member of the Auglaize Country Club, and a former member of the Defiance Eagles. In his spare time Rob enjoyed golfing, bowling, and spending time with family and friends.
Rob is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Prough of Defiance, son, Rob (Deb) Prough of Rochelle, Illinois, daughter, Michelle Gittleson of Rochelle, Illinois, four grandchildren: Justin, Joey, Ryan and Alex, six great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren: Heather (Matt), Chelsey, Ronald, Danielle and Samantha, and nine step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepsons, Ronald Nash and Timothy Nash, and his stepdaughter, Janet Szabo.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson - Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home South. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery, with Military honors conducted by VFW Post #3360.
