Stephen Fisher Obituary
He was born January 9, 1948, in Napoleon, Ohio, to George J. and Norma (Shelt) Fisher. A 1965 graduate of Napoleon High School, he proudly served his country as a U. S. Marine and was a Vietnam veteran. He retired April 1, 1998, from Defiance General Motors after 27 years of service.
On November 16, 1993, he married Linda (Parrish) Bruce who survives. He was a life member of VFW Post #3360 in Defiance. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, and working outside.
He is also survived by his stepchildren: Dan (Kelly) Meyer of Toledo; Andrea (Mike) Scott of Livonia, Michigan; and Aleesha Bruce of Defiance. He was known as Grandpa Golf by his grandchildren, Logan and Josiah Meyer, Ellie and Caleb Scott and Jordan Leitner.
Other survivors include his siblings: Richard (Lindy) Fisher of Napoleon; Kevin (Michelle) Fisher of Perrysburg; Mary Jane (Tom) Flowers of McClure: and Brenda (Dave) Flory of Napoleon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Timothy.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Schaffer Funeral Home, 529 Jefferson Avenue in Defiance. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the funeral home. The cremains will be interred at a later date, with Military Rites conducted by VFW Post #3360.
