Yolanda Raimonde

DEFIANCE - Yolanda Marie (Runco) "Loni" Raimonde, 89, of Defiance, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023, at The Laurels of Defiance. The family will celebrate her life in a private funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on May 30, 2023, followed by interment at Defiance Riverview Memory Gardens.

Yolanda was born in Yorkville, Ohio, on August 10, 1933, the daughter of the late Phillip and Rose (Veltri) Runco and was a 1952 graduate of Yorkville High School as well as a 1954 graduate of the Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing. She was married to the late Dr. James T. Raimonde, DVM, founder of the Defiance Area Animal Hospital at 08757 Ohio 66 north, Defiance, where he practiced for over 50 years.

"Loni," as she was affectionately known by her family, was proud of the accomplishments of her four children and six grandchildren, and played an immense role in their success through her gentle guidance and loving nature.

Surviving are her sons, Dr. A. Jay Raimonde (Julie Raimonde, CNP), MD of Toledo, Ohio, Dr. James Allen Raimonde, DVM of Defiance, Ohio, Jon Raimonde (Beth Raimonde, RRT), CRNA of Defiance, Ohio, daughter, Lisa Resch (Dr. William Resch, DO), RN of Blacklick, Ohio, and grandchildren, Ryan Christopher, Joseph Michael, Joshua David, Jason Michael, Sarah Marie and Marisa Renee.
