James Alan Kirk McCall

1969 - 2024

James Alan Kirk McCall, belovedly known as Alan, was called to his Heavenly home on Thursday, Jan. 25 at Cottingham Hospice House in Walhalla.
Alan was a native of Cashiers, where for many years one could find him driving his golf cart or walking around Slab Town road. When you stopped to say hello, he would always have a big smile, a big hug and usually a chuckle for you. One thing was for sure, you walked away knowing that he loved you and the Lord loved you.
Alan loved music, especially gospel, and was known to play a mean steel guitar and the drums. He could listen to music and sing for hours.
For the past seven years, Alan lived in upstate South Carolina where he expanded his friend circle and shared the love of the Lord. His passing leaves an indelible hole among his communities, his family, and his friends. There was only one Alan McCall and God broke the mold when He made him; Alan knew it, too.
He was born Feb. 25, 1969, to the late Alvis Bond and Arlin Loretta Bradley McCall of Cashiers. He is survived by sisters Margaret Gibson (Seneca, SC), Sharon Pressley (Hendersonville), Cindy McCall (Walhalla) brothers Jerry McCall (Cashiers), Terry McCall (Stanfield). He was preceded in death by brothers Ottis McCall and Griffin McCall. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, at Davenport Funeral Home in West Union.
