Agnes Roach Obituary
Agnes Sedensky Roach, age 79 of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, beloved wife of Thomas J. Roach, Sr. passed away peacefully on May 26 surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 8, 1937 in Bridgeport to the late Andrew and Agnes Sedensky (née Amrich), she graduated from Lauralton Hall and worked for SNET until the birth of her first child. After several years of raising her six children, she returned to work as the much loved school secretary at St. Ann for seventeen years. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her family, was a crossword puzzle enthusiast, an avid gardener, a voracious reader, and an expert, if not ruthless, pinochle player. Always putting others before herself, she will be dearly missed as a dedicated wife and mother as well as a doting grandmother.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, Agnes is survived by her five siblings (James, Andrew, Joseph, Rita, and Therese), her six children, Maura O'Connor (Brian) of Fairfield; Kathleen Seperack (Andrew) of Black Rock; Erin Roach and Thomas Roach, Jr. (Jim) of Providence; James Roach (Sandrine) of Grass Valley, CA; and Peggy Roach (Jason) of Black Rock, and her eleven grandchildren: Molly, Jack, Tommy, Liam, John, Clare, Yuba, Eileen, River, Daisy and Oona.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11 AM directly at St. Ann Church. Interment will be held privately in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 4-8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center.

My memories of Mrs. Roach started on Ellsworth St. when we were neighbors and continued through the years as always being there for us children and then for our own children. How blessed we are for having known such a dedicated, kind woman.

The patience and kindness that Mrs. Roach showed for her children's many friends as we piled into her living room, family room, and kitchen at various stages of our lives to chat and simply take up space was seemingly endless. Welcomed into her home with a smile and and a bit of conversation, we all felt we had a second home. Indeed, only a select few are made with such a heart -- one that finds endless room for others. The mark she leaves is indelible: co-creator of wonderful, interesting, and accomplished children and grandchildren. We friends will be forever thankful of the refuge the Roachs' Lake Avenue abode offered, and will try to extend this to our own children. I can only say thank you and offer my deepest condolences to Mr. Roach, Maura, Kathleen, Erin, Tommy, Jimmy and Peggy, as well as their spouses and children.
