Albert J. Macey, age 94, of Wolcott and formerly of Bridgeport, died peacefully in his home on March 23, 2016.
Al was born in Bridgeport to Stephen and Susan (Urban) Macey. He was a proud World War II U.S. Army veteran and served in the European Theatre and also the Middle Eastern/African Theatre. Al would reminisce fondly about being deployed as a Private FC with the military police in central Paris. He had been employed with Petrucci Construction for many years and Connecticut Laborers Local #65.
Al loved to spend time gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking them out to dinner. His great-grandchildren were the light of his life. Al was a kind and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose ever present smile will be greatly missed.
Survivors include two beloved daughters, Robin Henchcliffe and her husband, Warren, of Southbury and Kim Macey and her partner, Patrick Kinney, of Newtown; devoted grandson and best friend, Ray Bevis of Wolcott; three cherished great-grandchildren, Mason Bevis and Aidan and Wolfie Bohn; and many nieces and nephews. He had been predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, Stephen, John and Frank Macey; and three sisters, Julia Goda, Irene Macey and Mary Macey.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, March 29, at 9:45 at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main St., Stratford and at at 10:30 am at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Rev.
