Albert Rusinak Obituary

Albert Rusinak
Albert ("Al") Rusinak, age 92, of Hyannis, MA, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bridgeport, CT on October 4, 1930 and married the love of his life, Eunice Malec, in October of 1954. The couple resided in Trumbull, CT for over 60 years where they raised their family. Al was a graduate of Harding High and Bullard Havens Technical School and spent most of his working career in the trades as a toolmaker for Singer, Remington Arms, Bridgeport Machines, and Avco Lycoming Textron. Later in life, after putting his children through college, Al semi-retired and enjoyed working for the Town of Trumbull at the high school. Al was also a veteran who proudly served his country in the Air National Guard stationed at Otis Air Force base on Cape Cod during the Korean War. Al was a dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who always worked hard to provide and take care of those he loved. He will be most fondly remembered for his huge smile, his quick wit, and his infectious laugh. He loved to joke around and make others feel at ease, often becoming known as the favorite friend, neighbor, relative, etc., to all those who were blessed to know him. Al loved holidays, especially Christmas Eve with his sister's family and Thanksgiving where he was the expert at cooking and carving the turkey. For many decades, Al had an amazing garden that produced a bountiful crop of vegetables that he would generously share with everyone. Other pastimes he enjoyed included working in the yard, shooting pool, bowling, playing cards, feeding treats to his granddog, Bentley, and, of course, satisfying his sweet tooth. Al was also a devout Catholic and very active in Christ the King Church where he served as an usher for many years. Al is predeceased by his parents John and Theresa (Kocurko) Rusinak, along with his four siblings Stephen Rusinak, John Rusinak, Josephine Robidoux, and Mary Messina. He is survived by his loving wife Eunice of 68 years, his son, Paul Rusinak, daughter-in-law, Rosalind Tang, and grandson Trevor Rusinak of London, England, and daughter, Cheryl Ball, and son-in-law, Joseph DeLicio, of Plymouth, MA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family members who adored him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
