Amelia Maiocco Schmedlin
Amelia A. Maiocco Schmedlin, age 98, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Schmedlin. Born in Fairfield on April 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Grassi) Maiocco.
Survivors include her two loving daughters, Patricia King and Barbara Llewellyn and her husband John, three beloved granddaughters, Beth Spektor, Adrienne Hamilton (Dan) and Meghan Loew (Trevor) and six cherished great-grandchildren, Leonardo and Wesley Spektor, Jackson and Leah Loew and Jonah and Adeline Hamilton as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Nicholas and Louis Maiocco, a son-in-law, John Tyson King III and her longtime companion Bill Pancak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Ln, Shelton, Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
