Andrew Gazsi Obituary

Andrew R. Gazsi
Andrew R. Gazsi, age 87, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday morning, February 1, 2018, in the comfort of his home. Mr. Gazsi was born in Shelton on July 16, 1930, son of the late Andrew J. and Elizabeth Patrick Gazsi. A resident of Oxford for most of his life, he was employed as a civil engineer for many government and municipal agencies, including F.E.M.A., throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico, until his retirement. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict. Andrew was a skilled surveyor and a true craftsman who enjoyed carpentry and could build almost anything. He leaves to cherish his memory, former spouse, Ann Marie Gazsi, loving sons, Andrew P. Gazsi (Gina) of Oxford, Christopher M. Gazsi (Susan) of Naugatuck and Dr. Michael P. Gazsi (Christina) of Danbury, cherished grandchildren, Jessica Petzing (Seth) of Bristol, Jonathan and Joseph Gazsi of Naugatuck, Anthony and Nicholas Gazsi of Oxford and Anna, Rebekah, Benjamin, Daniel, Matthew and Timothy Gazsi of Danbury. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday February 5, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, 15 Pepper Street in Monroe, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. There will be no visiting hours. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, 2 Trap Falls Road, Shelton, CT 06484. To send an act of sympathy, please visit www.spinelliricciutifh.com.
