Anna Kapisovsky Fazekas, age 88, of Stratford, beloved wife of Andrew J. Fazekas, peacefully passed away on December 6, 2022, in her Stratford home. Anna was born in Komloša, Slovakia on October 24, 1934, to the late Peter and Maria (Vasilik) Kapisovsky and had been an area resident since her immigration to the U.S. in 1946. Anna graduated from Bullard Haven in Bridgeport and was a retired seamstress for Warnaco in Bridgeport and a salesclerk for a children's clothing store in Stratford. She was a faithful member of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist in Bridgeport. Survivors include her devoted sons, Andrew, and Peter and his wife Jill all of Stratford; her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, William, and Lauren; Matthew and Christopher, and their mother, Maryjane; a brother Demeter (Martin) Kapisovky, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband Andrew Fazekas and her brothers, Andrej, Peter, and Stefan. Anna overcame many challenges as a young child including the loss of her mother, the Second World War, and emigrating from Slovakia with her brother. She epitomized the saying "World's Greatest Mom." She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was blessed to see all of them grow up and graduate. Friends may greet her family on Saturday, December 10th from 9:00 a.m.- 10 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. A Requiem Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
