Anne (Comerford) Roberts, age 82, of Stratford, beloved wife of Edward Roberts, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Anne was born on June 10, 1943, in Derby, Connecticut, daughter of the late John and Marie (Lawlor) Comerford and was a lifetime area resident. Anne was a graduate of Ansonia High School and Southern Connecticut State University and was a retired teacher in the Stratford School System. During her career, Anne earned a master's degree and sixth year teaching certificate. She absolutely loved teaching her elementary school students and developed lasting friendships with many colleagues. Anne found joy in helping others and spent time volunteering with the Bridge and the Lord's Kitchen through St. James Church. Her favorite place to be was on the beach in Cape Cod and she always enjoyed reading, music, theater, and travel. Anne was devoted to her family and friends, bringing her generous spirit, love, and laughter to so many. In addition to her beloved husband of 56 years, she is survived by her four children, John Roberts and his wife Laura, Maura Brennan and her husband Timothy, Luke Roberts and his wife Kay, and MaryKate Howland and her husband Jesse; five grandchildren, Ceili Roberts, Ciara Roberts, Emily Brennan, Daniel Brennan and Ryan Roberts; sister, Margaret Mary Comerford; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Maureen Baron and her husband Eugene Sr., and their three children, Eugene Jr., Anne, and Kateri. Friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Peter Adamski on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly at Saint James Church, 2110 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may visit with her family on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615. Donations in her memory may be made to the Bridge or Lord's Kitchen at St. James Church (https://osvhub.com/st-james-church-104/giving/funds) or the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org/get-involved-now/donate). My deepest condolences to all the family. Anne was a wonderful soul. I had the pleasure of caring for Anne for the past few years.
I will always remember just a couple of weeks ago, her , Ed and I , singing " oh Danny boy" and "Ave Maria schubert" we had so much fun.
May she rest in peace in the Lords arms.
