Anthony Buzzanca Obituary
Anthony Buzzanca, age 96 of Trumbull, CT, beloved husband of the late Theresa Pellegrino Buzzanca, died peacefully on May 30, 2022, surrounded by family.
Born in Montagna, Reale, Province of Messina, Sicily, he immigrated to the US as a child.
He was a proud Navy Veteran, who fought in WWII in 1944 he was deployed to Pearl Harbor as a CB. Buzz, as he was known to most, started his career after returning from the War, owning and operating a Chevron gas station, later becoming a partner in Liberty Auto and Electric Co. in Bpt., CT. Retiring in 1990, he loved watching baseball and football and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers Salvatore and John and sister, Rose Innaco.
He is survived by his daughter Gayle B. Yakush (Matthew), son, Anthony J. Buzzanca (Annette), grandchildren, Danielle T. Tibbetts (Evan), Anthony J. Buzzanca Jr, (Hannah), Vincent M. Buzzanca, Cara T. Yakush, Cristen M. Yakush, great-grandsons, Aiden and Ashton Tibbetts, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Sunday, June 5th from 4:00 -6:00 p.m. at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Tpke., Monroe, CT.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Christ the King Church, Trumbull, CT. Interment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull, CT.
