Anthony C. "Tony" Testi Sr.

TESTI Anthony (Tony) C. Testi, Sr., age 72, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Good Friday, April 10, 2009. He was the devoted husband of 50 years to Yolanda Zullo Testi of Bluffton, S.C. and formerly of Stratford, the beloved son of Barbara LeCardo Testi and the late Carmen F. Testi, Sr., the loving father of Beth Tiberio and husband, Stephen, Patricia Moore and husband, David, Carmen and wife, Kim, Anthony, Jr. and wife, Kim and Rocco and wife, Shelley, all of Shelton. He was adored by and cherished his grandchildren, Alyssa, Christopher, Lauren, Emily, Olivia, Anthony, Kelsey, Matthew, Stephen, Kayla and Gianna. He was the supportive brother to Carmen and wife, MaryAnn, Rosemarie Archick and husband, Richard, and Barbara England; and admired uncle to many nieces and nephews. After graduating Stratford High School in 1954 where he excelled in sports, he played semi-professional football with the Bridgeport Jets. For ten years he served in the Connecticut National Guard as Platoon Sergeant First Class. He was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft for five years and went on to pursue the family business, the Stonybrook Restaurant, in Stratford for 28 years. During his years at the Stonybrook, he was respected by his many patrons whom he viewed as friends. He was inducted into the C.A.S.A. Softball Hall of Fame for his sponsorship of various teams, most notably the Stonybrook J.A.W.S. In addition, he owned the Wine & Liquor Junction in Milford for 12 years. His life was full of service, as he effortlessly volunteered for many organizations including the Stratford Housing Authority Commission as Chairman and Officer, Stratford Democratic Town Committee, Habitat for Humanity, Knights of Columbus, Buckhorn Rod & Gun Club, Greater Bridgeport Transit District Authority, Town of Stratford Recreation Dept, Our Lady of Grace School P.T.A, Mount Carmel Society, St Gregory the Great Church and Sun City Veterans Club, S.C. He was blessed by the multitudes of friends he accumulated during various stages of his life. Tony touched strangers daily with his warm smile, cheerful hello, harmonious whistle and outgoing personality. His huge heart was evident with his constant concern for the welfare of others, always putting their needs before his own. He will be forever in our hearts and sadly missed by all. Funeral services will take place TODAY Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial.
