Barbara F. Bednarski, age 85, of Stratford, beloved wife of Edward M. Bednarski, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2016 in her home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Grant Moore and grandsons, William and Daniel Ieronimo, and great-granddaughter, Courtney Ieronimo, step-daughter, Susan Salamone and step-grandchildren, Matthew, David, and Emily Salamone, a sister, Ciel and her husband Ed Lukaszewski. She was known as Aunty B to her many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her mother, Martha Janaites Gwara and 6 siblings, Robert, Joseph, Stanley, and Thomas Gwara, Dorothy Zitnay and Eleanor Canale, she also lost her loyal poodle companion Mutsie. Barbara graduated from Harding High School and worked at Dictaphone, and retired from Sikorsky. She was a tall beautiful woman, who was very particular about her appearance, especially her hair, going weekly to the salon. She loved flowers, especially her rose garden. Barbara was a great cook, specialties were her stuffed cabbage, and chicken with dumplings. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and U-Conn woman's team. Barbara was a faithful follower, accompanying her husband when he played at concerts with his Frank Porto Band. Together they shared their love for travel. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 22nd at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Polish National Church Lordship. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
