Barbara Pattyson Obituary

PATTYSON Barbara Ann Douglas Pattyson, age 62, was a 24 years resident of Monroe, until she entered eternal rest on Friday, December 3, 2004, in her home. Mrs. Pattyson was born in Hazelton, Pa., to Robert M. Douglas Sr. and Julia Wichie Douglas, on January 16, 1942. Barbara's mother predeceased her. Barbara graduated from Cranford High School in New Jersey in 1959. Barbara was employed as a secretary for CPA John Manger through high school and continued her position after graduating. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Brian H. Pattyson; her father, Robert M. Douglas Sr.; her brothers, Bob and Jim; and a sister, Joan Pagano, and their spouses and children. Barbara is the mother of Brian D. Pattyson, Kimberly Ann Pattyson, Mark A. Pattyson; her daughter-in-law, Deborah A. Dizenzo Pattyson; along with her grandchildren, Andrew Douglas Pattyson, Julie A. Pattyson, and Katie V. Pattyson. Barbara is also survived by her sister-in-law, Kathy Oden; and brother-in-law, Michael Flagg Pattyson. Barbara was a gifted craft enthusiast specializing in hand made quilts, needle point and country cross stitch. Barbara's home was seasonally appointed with decorations that enriched the atmosphere and excelled as a homemaker. Motherhood, wife, friend and personality defined her. Barbara was a parishioner of Saint Jude's Church of Monroe. A memorial service will be held at Saint Jude's Church on Thursday, December 9, 2004, at noon, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Route 111, Monroe. There are no calling hours. The Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Route 111, Monroe, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Connecticut, 96 Oak Street, Hartford, CT 06106. (866) 363-6676.
