Barbara Waite
Barbara Waite, born on April 24, 1951, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, at Saint Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was 74 years old.
A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Barbara graduated from Andrew Warde High School and went on to build a life rooted in love, family, and quiet strength. She was married to her high school sweetheart, John Waite, for 56 years-a testament to their enduring bond and shared journey through life.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family was the center of her world. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, John; her son, Michael Waite, and his wife, Cathy; her daughter, Jill Waite; and her cherished grandsons, Ian and Nicholas Waite. Her presence will also be deeply missed by her sisters, Diane Kloc and Terry Kraft; brothers, Tomas Burby; sisters-in-law, Paula Burby and Heather Tellone; brothers-in-law, Joe Kloc and David Kraft; Leonard Tellone; nieces, Laurie (husband, Shane Trepl) and Stacey (husband, T.J. Keough); as well as great-niece and nephews, including Conner and Meghan and Laurie's daughters, Samantha and Emily.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Joan Tellone; nephew, Leonard Tellone Jr.; brother, Greg Burby; and parents, John and Edna Burby.
She found spiritual comfort as a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, where she attended services with quiet devotion.
Barbara will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She quietly and stoically showed her love through action rather than words-an enduring legacy of grace that will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Pistey Funeral Home, now located at 2611 Main Street, Stratford.
