Beatrice Edmonds

EDMONDS Evangelist Beatrice Edmonds, age 89, of Bridgeport, died Saturday, December 6, 2003, at the CT Hospice in Branford. Born in Halifax, Va., Evangelist Edmonds spent 23 years of her life here in Bridgeport and the remainder in Va. She was a former Pastor of Fellowship Temple Church in Bridgeport for 14 years and was a licensed Evangelist with both the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World and the Church of The First Born. While in Va. she was a member of Christ Temple Blue Rock Pentecostal Church and her years here were spent with Fellowship Temple Church. Her husband, Henry Edmonds predeceased her. Survivors include 10 sons, James, Lawrence, Calvin, Gregory, Irving and Elijah Edmonds, all of Bridgeport, Nathaniel, Henry, Preston, and Joseph Edmonds, all of Va.; a stepson, Willie Womack of Va.; six daughters, Dorothy Younger, Annie Crawley and Beatrice Tyner of Bridgeport, Hazel Edmonds of Hamden, Carolyn Jackson of New York and Hallie Sparks of Va.; two sisters, Mildred Bruce of Bridgeport and Dorothy White of Va.; 95 grandchildren; 225 great-grandchildren, 55 great-great grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday at Mt. Olive Apostolic Church in Va. Friends are invited to view Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Fellowship Temple Church, 1281 Stratford Avenue (where Elder John Loyd officiates). Interment will take place in the Blue Rock Cemetery, Vernon Hill, Va. Morton's Mortuary Inc., 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport, is in charge of local arrangements.
