hard to believe it's been 8 years my old friend (since first grade) is gone. i will always remember bernie fondly as one of THE cast of characters in my life. what a great guy.
i walk past his house every other day on my morning walk and always look over to his house (jean: are you still there?) only to remind me of how short life here really is.
all the best to bernie's family & friends.

my sincerest condolences to bernie's wife jane whom i only met in the past couple of years and to their duaghters whom i never met.
bernie and i were the best of friends growing up in milford in the 50's. we attended pumpkin delight school grades 1-8 and then onto milford high school.
his brother would always have the latest 45's and when he was out (his bother) we would always listen to his records on james st.
lost track of bernie after jlhs opened.
but, in the past few years got to see each other a few times at "beach kids" reunion get togethers.
he talked constantly about his family and daughters and his beloved football years at jlhs.
he was a good friend then and a great guy. he will always be indelibly impressed in my memory as one of those cast of characters in one's life that you'll always remember with fondness.
rip my friend.
see you in the next life.

My sincere condolences to the Werner family. Bernie was a great man, a true friend and will be missed by his FAA family.
