Bernhard Post Obituary
Bernhard H. Post, 87, of Ridgefield, CT, formerly of Bridgeport, CT, passed away peacefully in Danbury, CT on December 27, 2022.
Born in Rheine, Germany in 1935 to the late Bernhard P. Post and the late Clara (Reckenfelderbaumer) Post.
While in Germany, Bernhard met the love of his life, Katharina, and sent for her after moving to the United States where they were happily married for 65 years. Bernhard worked at US Baird Corporation in Stratford, CT for 38 years. He was a proud and loyal member of the Knights of Columbus for many years.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife and three children camping and traveling, making many trips to Germany. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Marie.
Bernhard is survived by his wife, Katharina, his daughter, Lisa and her husband Al Weggeman, and his son David Post. Grandchildren, Sarah and Lauren Weggeman and Ashar Post. As well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South St. Danbury, CT) from 5-7pm. A prayer service will take place at 5pm.
