Bernice McEwen Obituary

MCEWEN Bernice B. McEwen, age 85, of Shelton, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Ashlar of Newtown. She is the devoted wife of 54 years of Leonard A. McEwen. She is the beloved mother of John McEwen and his wife Karen, loving grandmother of Kim and Andrew Weeks. Friends are invited to greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. On Monday, her funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the Huntington United Methodist Church, 338 Walnut Tree Hill Rd, Shelton. Private burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Le Roy, N.Y. At the request of the family, contributions in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Echo Hose Ambulance Corp., 100 Meadow Street, PO Box 213, Shelton, CT 06484 or to the White Hills Volunteer Fire Company #5, 2 School Street, Shelton, CT 06484. If you are unable to attend, you may offer condolences online at www.riverviewfh.com.

I knew the McEwen family back in the 70's when I stopped monthly to service the business they had with the Prudential Insurance Co. Bernice always was interesting to talk with. A really nice person! My condolances to the family. Bob Janovich, retired agent, Prudential Insurance.

SO SORRY TO HEAR OF BERNICE'S PASSING. I WAS IN EASTERN STAR WITH HER AND MY FAMILY LIVED JUST DOWN THE STREET FROM THE MCEWENS. SHE WAS A LOVELY LADY AND WE HAD MANY GOOD TIMES TOGETHER
