Bert W. Sheppard

SHEPPARD Bert W. Sheppard, age 73, husband of Judith (Wagner) Sheppard of Brookfield, died on Saturday, October 22, 2005, at New Milford Hospital. He was born in Bridgeport, on July 16, 1932, son of the late Herbert and Katherine (Evans) Sheppard. Bert was a graduate of Stratford High School and the University of Bridgeport with a B.S. in electrical engineering. He served in the U.S. Army. A resident of Brookfield since 1960, Mr. Sheppard was a salesman for the Phoenix Mutual Insurance Co., Allinze and had worked for Data Controls Systems. He was an active member of the board of directors for Select Engineer Systems of Hialeah, Fla. In addition to his wife, Bert is survived by two sons, Greg Sheppard and his wife, Sherry, of Bethel, and Ronnie Sheppard of Brookfield; two brothers, John Sheppard and his wife, Elaine, of Miami, Fla., Herbert Albright and his wife, Marion, of Huntington; four grandchildren, Meagen and Erin Cesaro, Tyler and Ryan Sheppard; two brothers-in-law, Ron Wagner and his wife, Janet, and Bill Wagner and his wife, Irene, all of Fredericksburg, Va.; and several nieces and nephews, including John Sheppard, Sandy Tisaris, James and Bruce Albright, Linda and Simon Stroud, Terriann and Justin Duda and Shari, Pam and Cindy. Bert was known as a very positive person. He lived every day as the best day of his life. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2005 in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Private burial will be in Newtown Village Cemetery.
