Brian McCarthy Obituary
Brian McCarthy, 34, beloved son of Gordon and Terri (Phillips) McCarthy, died as a result of a motorcycle accident on Saturday September 7, 2013. Brian was born, July 12, 1979 in Derby. He attended the New York Military Academy and was currently a State Security Officer for Gateway Community College. He loved his colleagues and his job. He was previously employed with St. Mary's Hospital as well as Campion Ambulance. Those that knew him would describe him as a wonderful father, patient and fun loving. Brian lived his life to the fullest, every day was an adventure. He deeply loved his family, friends and animals. The loss of Brian is deeply felt by all who knew him. Besides being survived by his parents, Brian was the father of three beautiful children: seven year old Addison, five year old John and 6 month old Sawyer; survived by his aunts and uncles Toni and Don Douglas of Beacon Falls and Traci and Joseph Healy of Middlebury as well as several other aunts, uncles and cousins. Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Friday September 13, 2013 9:15 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. to St. Michael's Episcopal Church for services at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brian McCarthy Children's Fund, c/o Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan, 333 Church St., Naugatuck, CT 06770. I didn't know you by name but you were always a cheerful, helpful presence at gateway. I volunteered for the holiday dinners and there you were staffing. I lost my computer one time and you helped me in the guard office to retrace my steps and to look through the cameras around school. I will pray for you and all you have left behind. Rest in peace.

Brian wa s a kind and gentle person with a beautiful soul. I got to know him quite well over the years and we became great friends sharing similar intrests. I will miss u very much and think of you always. Rest in peace Brian and look down on us once in awhile as I will look up at you.
