Brian M. Shortell
Brian M. Shortell, age 68 of Ansonia, previously of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Charlene Germano Shortell, passed away October 15, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Derby, March 14, 1956, son of the late Donald and Marie Mehaylo Shortell. He was a graduate of Shelton High School, Class of 1974 and played basketball for the Shelton Gaels. He was a member of the 1973 Shelton Gaels team that went undefeated at 20-0 and were the Housatonic League Champions. He worked at Dresser Industries for 30 years and later worked for the City Of Shelton for 23 years. He is survived by his children Brittany Shortell and her fiancée Elizabeth Tarantino and Donald Shortell and his wife Alicia, his grandchildren Joseph Davis, Aiden Davis, Greyson Tarantino-Shortell, Oaklyn Shortell, and Shai Shortell, his brothers-in-law George Germano and his wife Barbara and Paul Ferrier, his sister-in-law Corrine Clark, his nephew Brian Fette and his wife Tara and their children Katelyn Fette and Jenna Fette, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Jeffrey Shortell and his wife Connie, his sisters Donna Ferrier and Leta Shortell, and his brother-in-law Garry Germano. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Parish (St. Mary's Church), 212 Elizabeth St., Derby. Interment will be private. The James T.
